I Love My Job!

Justin is responsible for assisting in keeping the resort well maintained for its guests. Justin has worked in his family’s restaurant, the Eagles Nest, for some time, but Justin and his parents felt it was time for him to try a job in the community. Gail Kline, RSC Counselor, referred Justin to PiE, Inc. for services.

If you have ever wondered why we do what we do, I think the answer can be found on the face of Justin Masserant.  Justin started his job at Maumee Bay Resort in May of 2008 as a grounds maintenance worker.

Karen Gerig, PiE Job Developer, found an opportunity for Justin at Maumee Bay Resort.  With the assistance of PiE Job Coach, Jim Bourland, Justin quickly learned his responsibilities and has become an important member of the lawn crew.  Justin drives a Work Horse (see picture) around the property and is responsible for trash pick-up, lawn mowing, weed-wacking and equipment maintenance. One of Justin’s best qualities is his natural ability to greet and welcome the guests he encounters while he is working. Justin’s supervisor, Jamie, states that Justin has done a remarkable job this summer and was even nominated for Employee of the Month by a supervisor from another department.
